Stripping store woman fails to protect shoplifting husband

A woman has stripped to her underwear in a German department store to try to distract security staff from her shoplifting husband.

He'd taken a number of items of jewellery from the store in Aachen and put them in his pockets.

But when security staff approached the pair, the woman began screaming and stripping off.

She'd hoped her tactics would have distracted staff and given her husband the chance to get rid of the goods.

But instead he just managed to drop the goods on the floor.

The Aachener Zeitung newspaper says the couple were also carrying bags filled with stolen shirts and shoes.

They've been charged with shoplifting.
